influenced by his seamstress mother as a child, nic was always dreaming up fashion sketches for his imaginary muses.
nic wong, the designer for nicholas, is widely known for his figure-flattering cuts and quiet structured styles.
he pursued a scholarship in bachelor of arts (fashion design) with RMIT in 2003.
upon graduation, he was selected as one of singapore’s top ten fashion graduates, and was further rewarded with a merit award for best creative menswear.
in 2004, nic clinched the Mercedes Benz asia fashion awards (singapore) for his clever use of vintage fabrics and cotton, boasting feminine silhouettes.
nic not only has a string of awards to his name, but his label nicholas, started in 2004, has also gone places.
besides local department store Tangs, it is also stocked at multi-label boutiques in chicago, new york and kuala lumpur.
most recently,
nicholas set up its new flagship store at marina square.
